For four years, Jair Bolsonaro governed Brazil by turning the Amazon into a land to be exploited. The Brazilian forest service was transferred from the Ministry of the Environment to the Ministry of Agriculture, the Secretariat for Climate Change was eliminated, and funding for climate research was slashed by 93%. A clear policy, a veritable incentive for arson and the expansion of agricultural land.

Culture was not spared either. The Ministry of Culture was dissolved, downgraded to the status of a secretariat, with budgets cut by more than half and a desire to censor anything that could be considered deviant. Thus, Dante Mantovani, head of the National Foundation for the Arts, declared: "Rock music activates drugs, which activate sex, which activates the abortion industry, which activates Satanism."

After Jair Bolsonaro's defeat to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, legal proceedings established an abuse of political power linked to his use of his office to attack the electoral process. In June 2023, he was therefore declared ineligible for office for eight years. In 2025, Donald Trump attempted to come to his dear friend's aid. In retaliation against the ruling party, tariffs of up to 50% were announced on certain Brazilian products. Trade was thus transformed into a political tool for unashamed interference.
